Wear It Purple is a community organisation that creates safe, supportive, and empowering spaces for Queer young people.
Wear it Purple was founded by Katherine Hudson and Scott Williams in 2010 after several Queer young people took their own lives following bullying and harassment.
It was “established to show young people across the globe that there was hope, that there were people who did support and accept them, and that they have the right to be proud of who they are.”
Through advocacy and education, Wear It Purple creates opportunities, promotes awareness, and provides resources and support to young LGBTQI people.
Commemorated by wearing purple on the last Friday in August, this year, Wear It Purple Day is on August 25, 2023.
