One of the district’s oldest pubs, Pyrmont Point Hotel wears its history proudly on its facade. The name “Royal Pacific” still appears in bold letters across the parapet of the building, even though it was given its current name back in 1996 after having one of its many renovations. Yet, its past goes back even further. Built in 1850, it was originally called the “Lands End Hotel” and was only two storeys high. Its name changed to Royal Pacific in 1886 and an additional level was added in 1913.
Over the years, the hotel has seen external updates to its architecture as well as renovations inside that have drawn out its original charm.
