ICONIC production pioneer Giorgio Moroder has three headline shows in Melbourne and Sydney next week alongside his appearances as a special guest for Kylie Minogue’s’s upcoming Kiss Me Once Australian tour
A DJ, world-renowned songwriter and prolific producer, Moroder is one of the most influential and innovative artists of our time.
Moroder helped bring electronic music to the mainstream with frequent collaborator Donna Summer and their hits Love To Love You Baby, Hot Stuff and I Feel Love.
Often referred to as the godfather of dance, Moroder has also composed film scores, such as that for The Never Ending Story, American Gigolo, Cat People, Superman III, Scarface, Rambo III, and Beverly Hills Cop II as well as hit soundtrack singles Take My Breath Away by Berlin (Top Gun), Flashdance by Irene Cara and Call Me by Blondie (American Gigolo).
His work for film has seen him win three Academy Awards, four Golden Globes, and four Grammys.
Moroder has also worked with iconic performers such as Elton John, Cher, Janet Jackson, Freddie Mercury, David Bowie, Chaka Khan, and Pat Benatar.
More recently, he worked alongside Afrojack, Laidback Luke and Daft Punk.
In January, Moroder announced his first solo studio album in over 30 years. 74 Is The New 24 features collaborations with Kylie Minoqgue, Britney Spears, Charli XCX, Mikky Ekko, Sia and more.
A top 10 hit throughout Europe, second single Right Here, Right Now features Minogue herself (scroll down to watch the music clip).
