What’s On (Melbourne): GLOBE workshops for LGBTI business owners
GLOBE Melbourne is set to host a series of Workshops over Wine seminars for LGBTI business owners, which are designed for small to medium business owners to build business knowledge (with wine provided).
The first workshop on Thursday, April 23, “Starting or owning a business – the common pitfalls”, will discuss key issues when setting up your business, HR considerations, risk management, protecting your IP and how not to get sued.
The “Asset protection for business owners and directors” workshop will take place on May 7, looking at estate planning, potential tax issues, insurance as it relates to superannuation, how super flows through into estate planning, challenges to wills, and the importance of communication and documentation to ensure that your intentions for your estate are carried out.
Lastly, “Keeping it in the Family” on June 4 will look at steps you can take to protect your business interests in the event that you separate from your partner, discussing the Family Court’s approach to the ownership and provide tips for business owners and family enterprises on protecting assets through the use of financial agreements.
Each workshop is limited to 25 places and costs $5 for GLOBE members or $30 for non-members.
