Proud Peninsula Day 2015
OPENLY-gay former Aussie Rules player Jason Ball and high-profile intersex local councillor Tony Briffa will join the LGBTI community of Frankston in Melbourne’s outskirts as special guests of Peninsula Proud Celebration Day on Saturday.
Both Ball and Briffa are expected to present speeches at the Peninsula Proud Art Exhibition awards ceremony, which will also conclude the Peninsula Proud Art Exhibition that has been running since January 20.
The Celebration Day as a whole is about celebrating LGBTI families in the community and sharing their stories.
The day will also have information displays and discussions on topics such as IVF, pregnancy and raising children, sexual health, living as a trans* person, living proud, challenging HIV stigma and discrimination, and discussing the challenges and rewards of blended families.
A barbecue and lunch will also be served between 12noon and 2pm.
The event will be held at Cube 37, 37 Davey St, Frankston (next to the Frankston Arts Centre). Details: call 03 9788 1506
