Dykes on Bikes go pink

October is an important month for Dykes on Bikes (DOB) as there are major events covering two of our favourite things — breasts and motorcyles.

Dykes on Bikes have participated in the Pink Ribbon Ride since it started more than 10 years ago. The ride raises funds for the Westmead Breast Cancer Institute through registration fees, raffles and other activities by the participants like sponsorship. This year it will be held on Sunday, October 23.

We will meet at Stanmore McDonalds at 8am and then go to the Mean Fiddler Hotel in Rouse Hill to hand in our registration forms before we head out on the ride with hundreds of other riders from around Sydney.

It doesn’t matter if you are a DOB or not — if you have two wheels, we’d love you to come out with us to help raise money for this worthwhile cause. Get yourself and your bike all decked out so you look pretty in pink. Hey, it’s worth it just to see some of our more butch members looking hot in their pink outfits.

October also has Motorcycle Awareness Week and Breakfast Torque. The week will kick off with the launch on Thursday, October 20 in front of Wynyard RTA in the city from 12.30-2pm. Drop in during your lunchtime and help us make some noise. New Roads Minister Duncan Gray will address the crowd at 1.15pm.

Breakfast Torque will be the last event on Sunday, October 30 at Loftus Oval. We will be meeting at St Peters McDonalds at 8am before heading down south to check out the bikes and new gear and grab a snag off the barbie. This is a great opportunity to check out the latest gear, update your knowledge, find a bargain and even win some prizes if you’re lucky.

And don’t forget to come and say hi to us if you are attending AGALA’s Be Yourself night at Mingara Recreation Club on Saturday, October 22. We’re heading north so we can party with our favourite girls on the Central Coast. It’s bound to be a great night so grab your tickets now.

Until I see you next time, ride safe and sexy.
