New twist on marriage equality campaign

The campaign called ‘What RU Having?” that will feature across billboards and the web, asks Australians to view the marriage equality issue in a new light – that any family can have a LGBTI child.
Outdoor advertising company GOA have donated billboard and poster space for the campaign – valued at up to $60,000.
“For many years now I have been asking the Federal Government to recognise that my gay son should have the same right as any other of my children to be married,” PFLAG national spokesperson Shelley Argent said.
“What if your child was born gay or lesbian, wouldn’t you want the same thing? It is designed to remind us all that any child can be born gay or lesbian and that’s why marriage equality is every family’s issue.”
The campaign also has the backing of Opposition Leader Tony Abbott’s sister, Christine Forster, who has been very open about her support for marriage equality.
“This campaign is another reminder that lesbians and gays come from all walks of life and from every part of Australia, and should have the same rights as our straight brothers and sisters.” Forster said.
