New president for PLWHA Victoria
People Living With HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) Victoria has elected a new president.
IT worker Sam Venning was elected to the role by the organisation’s board at its first meeting following last week’s annual general meeting.
Current president Paul Kidd formally stepped down from the role last night and congratulated Venning.
“We have been working together for more than a year towards a planned transition, giving Sam time to establish relationships and build his skills,” Kidd said.
“He has a great team behind him and he will be a great president.”
Venning said taking on the position was an honour.
“PLWHA Victoria continues to go from strength to strength, and I’m humbled by the opportunity to lead such a well-respected community organisation at a time of change and renewal.”
In other board changes, Shane Boyd was elected to the position of vice-president, Ben Reithmuller as secretary and Neil Shepherd was re-elected as treasurer.
