PrideWA Film Festival
Beginning this week and lasting to the end of the month is the Western Australian Pride Film Festival, being held at Perth’s Astor Theatre as part of the annual PrideWA festival of events.
Highlights of this year’s film festival include a sing-a-long screening of the original 1965 35mm Technicolor print of the Sound of Music, Aussie drag documentary Ladies Please, and the long awaited sequel to The Naked Civil Servant, an Englishman in New York, with John Hurt reprising his breakout role as Quentin Crisp.
PrideWA member cardholders are entitled to a discount to all film festival sessions with a portion of ticket sales supporting PrideWA
and future Pride festivals.
This year’s PrideWA festival season will close with an official Pride Party, “Neon Ballroom”, at Connections Nightclub on October 30, with
four different party spaces including the Connections main room, terrace bar, The Garden downstairs and an all new transformed Neon
Wonderland dance space in the old Plaka building.
Tickets are available for the party through the PrideWA website, Connections and Planet Video, and are $41 for members and $46 for
non-members.
