Convicts kick a fundraising goal
Proving that they can do more than just play with balls, the Convicts took to the stage at Slide recently in a series of musical performances which won over crowds and managed to raise $1800 for ACON.
Rugger Bugger Unplugged was a major success with crowds flocking to see the kings of rugby take to the stage to belt out tunes and pound the guitar, with all proceeds going to ACON.
ACON sponsors us and we usually help them out by doing pub crawls to promote their latest campaign, but we started thinking about other ways we might be able to get involved, Convicts president Andrew Purchas said.
We feel that the community has been very supportive over the past five years, so it is important to us that we give back. Our involvement with ACON also means that the boys are aware of what’s going on and can act as role models.
