BGF auction prizes announced

The Bobby Goldsmith Foundation (BGF) has announced the details of its annual auction, with the event returning to Otto Ristorante at 8/6 Cowper Wharf Rd, Woolloomooloo on Wednesday, April 18.

Guests will have the chance to bid on a range of experiences and items including dinner with both Sydney Labor MP Tanya Plibersek and Wentworth Liberal MP Malcolm Turnbull.

BGF president Martin Walsh said Plibersek and Turnbull have been longstanding supporters of BGF.

“We’re delighted to have both Malcolm and Tanya willing to give up their time in support of BGF and people living with HIV and AIDS,” Walsh said.

“I’ve no doubt that whoever wins this much prized dinner will have an entertaining and enlightening evening whatever side of politics they come from.”

Other auction prizes include a couture creation by 2011 Project Runway winner Dylan Cooper, a consultation with interior designer Darren Palmer, a painting by Indigenous artist Walangari Karntawarra, a Time magazine signed by Nelson Mandela, and a three-day weekend or four day mid-week stay at Three Bridges at Leura.

Last year the auction raised $63,000. Walsh said he hoped to improve on that in 2012 as the issues affecting people with HIV had not gone away.

Guests will also have the chance to speak with BGF’s new CEO David Riddell.
