Baby, let’s cruise
A new seven-night cruise looks set to shake up the party calendar in Australia next year with what’s been dubbed the country’s largest LGBTI “festival at sea”.
Liberati, which officially launched its website today, will set sail for the South Pacific from Sydney on October 5, 2013 and visit the Isle of Pines and Noumea in New Caledonia.
But it’s the on-ship entertainment that looks set to wow the potential 2,400 gay and lesbian guests.
Singers, cabaret artists, DJs, and comedians will be performing throughout the journey. Even The Famous Spiegeltent is jumping onboard.
Acts including Trevor Ashley, DJ Pornstar and Bob Downe have already been announced, with many more to be unveiled in the coming months, according to organisers Unity Events.
Liberati takes place aboard Royal Caribbean’s 11-deck Rhapsody of the Seas, which includes numerous dining venues, eight bars and lounges, two pools and six whirlpools, including the glass-canopied Solarium.
Cabin prices start from $1,447 per person for quad share. Reservations for Liberati can be made with a 25 percent deposit. Cruise capacity is limited to 2,400 people.
