World AIDS Day T-shirt launched

The World AIDS Day Dinner Fund has launched a special T-shirt designed by artist Martin Sharp as part of its campaign to raise awareness about the virus and to help people living with HIV/AIDS.

The design was unveiled last week by World AIDS Day ambassador Jessie Mabo.

Designers Alex Perry and Charlie Brown also created one-off T-shirts for the event, which were auctioned by Andrew Shapiro of Shapiro Auctioneers, raising more than $1500 for the fund.

The event was MCed by dancer Adam Williams and co-hosted by siblings and World AIDS Day Dinner Fund executive directors Eric and Irene Nair.

“We are incredibly heartened by the support we have received from the community to date,” Eric Nair said.

The special World AIDS Day T-shirt is available at 18 selected Oxford St retailers for $20.

The World AIDS Day Dinner will be held on December 1 at Paddington Town Hall. Email [email protected] for tickets and more information.
