The Village People perform classic hit on summit of Sydney Harbour Bridge

IN a performance staged atop of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, The Village People this week sang a rendition of their classic dance hit Y.M.C.A as part of the 2015 Mardi Gras festival.
Along with their signature hats, the group — who are currently touring Australia — dressed in the blue and grey BridgeClimb onesie and attached a rainbow flag handkerchief to their wrists.
The glittering disco ball placed on top of the bridge was coupled with speakers as the iconic singing group performed to onlooking climbing groups and Sydney Harbour (scroll down for video).
As part of this year’s Mardi Gras, BridgeClimb is offering people the chance to dance and sing to classic disco beats just like The Village People on the summit of the bridge.
The Mardi Gras Disco Climb features plasma TV screens, microphones and concert-style speakers that will aid the climbers in their performance.
Climbers ascend 1002 steps that will take around three and half hours, with 14 people per group.
The karaoke performance at the summit of the bridge will be captured on a complimentary eight-second video, and can be done by day, twilight or night.
The Mardi Gras Disco Climb ends on Monday, March 9.

Their original albums CRUISIN and VILLAGE PEOPLE were brilliant. You just don’t get those beautiful strings and kick drums, percussion etc like you did in the disco era
