The custom-designed building is a house that comes complete with a loft-style master bedroom, fully-equipped kitchen and garden with white picket fence, all overlooking the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House.
At night, the custom-built house will sparkle with neon-coloured lights and also lightly dust those that pass by with its glitter canon chimney.
The listing will be home to one lucky couple on Friday, March 6, and after the guests have checked out, the house will be transported to Oxford St to be featured as float in the Mardi Gras parade.
Along with dinner, breakfast, the overnight stay and the experience to participate in the Airbnb Mardi Gras parade, the winners will also stay in a luxury penthouse from 5–10 March 2015.
“The LGBT community around the world have been some of the first users of Airbnb, hosting and travelling with pride, so we’re thrilled to support a community that has always embraced us,”Airbnb Australian Country Manager Sam McDonagh said.
He added that Sydney is one of Airbnb’s top 10 cities with more than 10,000 local listings, and during Mardi Gras it becomes one of the most popular destinations on Airbnb.
“Mardi Gras is our second busiest booking period in the year, with guests from around the world discovering and booking accommodation with locals so they can be a part of the celebrations,” McDonagh said.
