Melbourne Gay and Lesbian Chorus set to shine

The Melbourne Gay and Lesbian Chorus (MGLC) will be warming up its vocal cords in preparation for a night set to shine a new light on traditional choral music.

The MGLC will present its new performance, On This Shining Night, on October 15.

The venue for this spectacular show will be St Marks Church, Fitzroy. New MGLC president Maree Foelz thinks the heavenly setting is a brilliant move.

“Holding this performance in a church setting will really add a wonderful atmosphere to the music,” she said.

While audience members are dazzled by the hardwood floors and stained-glass windows, they will be treated to something new and unlike anything they may have heard from the MGLC to date.

Musical director Adrian Schultz is excited to bring this fresh experience to the audience.
“This style of choral music can’t help but lift the spirits of anyone listening to it,” he said.

Those who attend can expect a variety of songs from several sources ranging anywhere from movie soundtracks to traditional Gaelic blessings. Of course, no MGLC concert would be complete without a few songs proudly belted out by the Melbourne Gay and Lesbian Youth Chorus.

The junior warblers are sure to induce euphoria with their conglomerate of blissful voices and divine songs.

Tickets purchased before September 30 will be at the earlybird price of $15, while tickets purchased after will be $20. Bookings will be in high demand so get in quickly via 0419 370 582 or email [email protected]
