Queer youth on the wireless

Young queer Victorians under 26 who want to learn about media, storytelling and radio production can apply for SYN 90.7FM’s free training program. Queer Youth on Air is calling out for young people to attend the two day radio training and then the regular Saturday afternoon show from February 9. No media experience is necessary.

SYN was one of eight organisations earlier this year to receive a state government grant for projects promoting better mental health in young LGBTI people.

“Queer Youth on Air is a great opportunity for us to teach some new skills and give a new platform to young same-sex attracted and gender diverse Victorians,” SYN training manager Jonathon Brown said.

“SYN is dedicated to giving a voice to young people all across Victoria and we’d love to reflect the diversity of young people in our community.”
