iTunes apps finally fair
Apple’s iTunes App Store in Australia will finally have prices similar to the US rates after the company announced they would take into account the recent surge in the Australian dollar.
Apps can now be purchased for iPhone, iPod and iPad for as low as $0.99, however music, books and movies would remain unadjusted.
Apple has come under increasing criticism for inflated pricing in Australia compared with the US, especially since the rise of the Australian dollar.
An Apple spokesman said that price adjustments came as a result of changes in foreign exchange rates and local tax laws.
Tech websites and Apple fans are speculating that the timing of the changes means that the company will be adjusting international pricing on its soon to be announced hardware releases.
