Pet Shop Boys get US release
Iconic ’80s band Pet Shop Boys will release their latest single in America today along with remixes and new versions of two fan favourites.
A chart disappointment in the UK when it was released late last year, Together missed the top 40 altogether – becoming just their third single to do so since 1984.
Neil and Chris will be hoping new versions of Glad All Over and I Cried For Us, which will be sold along with Together as B-sides in the digital bundle, help generate more interest from American fans.
I Cried For Us, in particular, will be of interest to the band’s loyal gay following. It is a cover of a Kate McGarrigle song – Rufus Wainwright’s late mother – and was performed by the band at her memorial concert in London last June.
Together also boasts a clever ‘dance-off’ video filmed in Estonia.
