Gay NSW catches up to Victoria

NSW has finally caught up to Victoria after its state government last night passed the NSW Relationship Register legislation, 62 votes to nine.

The  legislation means  same-sex and unmarried heterosexual couples will be registered with and recognised by NSW Births, Deaths and Marriages. It also means couples registered in Victoria will be recognised should they move to NSW.

Debate started just after 9pm last night.

  1. I guess Tom McFeely who owns the Peel, and is after our vote as the Liberal member, will not be at the rally as he supports Civil Unions only, as reported in The Age.

It is shame the money I have spent at the Peel might now go to denying me the right to get married.
