When he was 19, Australian-born Andrew Sutherland left our shores for Singapore, where he fell in love with a Russian psychic who proclaimed him as the trash messiah. Possibly descended from the Greek playwright Euripides, possibly sacrificed at an Aztec temple in a past life, but definitely one of the most innovative and exciting cabaret performers around. Victorian Greens Rainbow Trivia Night
Come and raise some money for the Queer Greens this Friday night at a trivia fundraiser hosted by Rod Swift and Dinesh Mathew. Of course if trivia’s not your thing there will be costumes, singing, cake and apparently even interpretive dance, which clearly makes this an event not to be missed. Queer House
In an effort to address the dearth of queer venues south of the river these days, the kids at Queer House have put together what promises to be the city’s first queer electro, house and dubstep night. Stevie Mink and Jane Daffy head a line up of some of Melbourne’s most talented DJs, pumping out quality tunes at the legendary Prince Bandroom in St Kilda. Tickets $15, doors open 10pm.
