Anti-gay apps available on iTunes
Apple has approved an app which quizzes users on abortion and same-sex marriage and encourages them to sign a declaration opposing both, while an ex-gay ebook and podcast are available through the iTunes store.
The Manhattan Declaration app by CSN Media allows you to read and sign a declaration created by a group of fundamentalist Christians in 2009 and network with a community of others opposed to gay rights and abortion.
The declaration declares, “that the institution of marriage, already buffeted by promiscuity, infidelity and divorce, is in jeopardy of being redefined to accommodate fashionable ideologies.”
“We acknowledge that there are those who are disposed towards homosexual and polyamorous conduct and relationships, just as there are those who are disposed towards other forms of immoral conduct.”
The document claims that legalising same-sex marriage would pave the way for the legalisation of group marriages and between “adult brothers, sisters, or brothers and sisters living in incestuous relationships.”
iPhone and iPad users who download the free Iceburg Reader app may also purchase the ebook “Growth into Manhood” by author Alan Medinger, described on the iTunes website as “a popular speaker for ex-gay conferences” and “the founder and director of Regeneration, one of the oldest ex-gay ministries in the United States”.
In the book Medinger claims that “homosexually orientated” men suffer from an incomplete manhood, which if healed can “release” them from homosexuality.
Also available through iTunes is the “eXclamation” podcast by Christian writer Brandon De Hoyos.
In 2008 Apple donated $100,000 to a campaign opposing the removal of same-sex marriage rights in California and has consistently been rated one of the most gay friendly companies in the world – something which has resulted in criticism from conservative Christian groups in the past.
American activist group Change.org have launched a petition calling on Apple to remove the Manhattan Declaration app which is currently rated as having “no objectionable material” on the iTunes site.

Sample sounds like a fake name but there is a Linked-In profile for someone with the same name who claims to be the owner of “Act242 Web Design” in the “Tennessee Area” and cites Princeton Theological Seminary as their primary education.
